Last day of treatment!!!

Just a quick note to be followed up with photos...

Today was Elan's last treatment!!!  All went well. Dr. B. Did the last day paperwork and just felt like a regular doctor check up release...  i don't know what i was expecting though.... an MRI? Just weird to be over!  We wont know results for at least 4 weeks when we do the baseline MRI.

They did do a really cute tradition of ringing the bell the last day and then a party afterwards for kids.  I have pictures i will post later.  They had a big Thomas cookie which of course was a BIG hit.  This was his 4 th day of some type of sugar... no more!  They also gave him 4 trains and a gift card.  So loving!  It was such a nice send off!

We had the car mostly packed but needed to do a few odds and ends so took about another hour at the house to get on the road so left at 11.  There was several sisters in the congregation we have been attending the 6 weeks we have been here who offered to clean for us when we left.  Erik convinced me to take them up on it... soooo glad we did!  How unbelievably loving,  right?  If they hadn't we wouldn't be getting home until 3 am.  We really didn't want to stop since we make elan's food and way too complicated overnight.  Please know how awesome you all are to scrub the toilets!

So hit the road and boys troopers!  We ordered the original Dr dolittle for ride from netflix- not an attention grabbing film for a 4 year old.  Finn kept asking when it would really start.  I have to say there was a lot of talking!  I must have been older when i liked it.

One of the nurses- Lisa told us about the zappos outlet in Louisville ky so stopped there briefly as we are always in the market for kid shoes and they have amazing deals... like $5 for named brand shoes in the clearance area. this is where all of the returns go.  Well they did have great deals!  Unfortunately not in our boys sizes but did get a brand new pair of Keens for finn next year for under $10.  And the best thing??  I got a $330 pair of boots for $10!!!  Yes you read right $10!!!  So if ever in the area worth the stop!  Even if you only have 30 minutes allotted like we did (plus waaaay cleaner bathrooms so if planned just right could not be bad- unfortunately we had to tube feed elan so kind of complicated).

Other than that?  Drive going well.  I am actually blogging while driving, did a work webex and watched several training videos!  Multitasking at its best!
