Wed - Only 4 more treatments to go!

Today was really nice.  We had a 9:30 appt so we dropped Finn off first.  Of course it was tough because we were all up late last night.  The congregation we have been going to here in Bloomington has the visit of their Circuit Overseer this week so they had this special meeting for anyone to attend.  For all of you who have no clue who that is... it is basically a fantastic speaker that is assigned to visit around 25 congregations every 6 months to encourage the congregations.  This is in mirror to the apostle Paul who also did a traveling work to encourage the congregations back in the  first century.  Every congregation has a similar visit every 6 months world wide - quite interesting to have everyone receive a similar visit and discussion.  Well we went to it and of course found much encouragement - but this AM was payback!

How you ask?  Well Finn decided it was a great time to not eat his regular breakfast and refused anything we offered him.  He insisted on having "Grandad Bill's cereal and milk" IN THE CAR - thanks Gran for buying that :) Of course that was a no go.  So Erik did drop off and somehow was able to get him to eat his sandwich before hitting the playground so all ended well.

Elan did great with treatment again.  We had a lovely time in the waiting room with Johanna - Kenny's mother today while he was in there.  I have been trying to get a few minutes of work done there but it never happens.  I just feel the need to relate to all of the other parents there.  Johanna is just such a great woman!  They homeschool all of their kids, boy does she work hard!  2 are now out of the home and in college but back for the summer.   Kenny is 15 and this is their 2nd time around with cancer with him.  He is such a positive and kind teen too.  I can't remember if I mentioned before but he had a brain tumor as a young child and beat it!  He also had Dr. Hock - so cool, right?  Well now he has one that basically only seniors get because it is a cancer created from previous cancers.  So crazy to think you can beat one only to turn around and get another one.  Johanna has been so positive though - like she said "We would never trade the past 10 years with Kenny".  Hopefully we will get 10 with Elan (at least we know we will have eternity at some point!).

We also took Finn to a Play therapist to see what his read on things are.  She was great!   I just wish we could have gotten into her earlier.  SHe will be able to refer us to someone in Charlotte at least!
