Don and Shirley came today. The boys had a nice time with them. Of course this meant missed naps the entire weekend - bummer!
Today we went to Discovery Place Kids. Erik ran into a dad with 2 girls there we actually got out in service back when we were still in Brookshire. They were in the process of moving and we really liked them and were so sad they were leaving the area. It was really an unusually good conversation and the mom even talked to us after we finished some additional doors about Montessori schools etc.
Erik asked where his wife was and he said she passed away... needless to say shocking. He made it seem like suicide but didn't quite come out and say it. They have a 4 yr old and maybe a 3 yr old??? Well just made us feel like even though our situation is hard others are going thorough worse things.
Erik asked if he could email him some encouraging information. Maybe will lead to a nice couple of conversations. The good news is that he said routine has been good for them and they are doing well now. I chatted a bit and said just how great to see him out and about.
